Review:
This was such a sweet read that takes you on a journey of healing for both the family that is dealing with a loss and the SEAL yet, still kept on the lighter side. Jubal (the SEAL) has a kindness about him that is palpable. You expect him to be tough, rugged, and rough around the edges and he catches you off guard with his tenderness instead. One thing not to mistake about him though, he isn't spineless and is not a much, but does have a heart and you know it. I loved how Jubal sees that Gordon was heading down a path of destruction and steps in to verbally shake him and tell him that there is a better road he can and should go down. And he is speaking from experience. He may have only intended to be in this town a day or two, but seeing a young kid going down a bad path makes him want to stay and help him. Such a sweet guy. The fact that he is former SEAL and dang cute doesn't hurt either! I really enjoyed this read. The cover had me thrown because I am not a country girl, but the synopsis had me REALLY curious. I am really glad I did read it because I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Patricia Potter has a talent in writing and creativity that made this read enjoyably different and refreshing. I am looking forward to reading more from this author and definitely the other books in this series for sure!

This is the home he never expected…
With a terrifying ordeal behind him, former navy SEAL Jubal Pierce was supposed to stay in Covenant Falls, Colorado, for only a day or two. That's it. He's not prepared to put down roots here—no matter how intriguing the town's new doctor happens to be. Not to mention Dr. Lisa Redding's teen brother is on a troubled path that's all too familiar. Suddenly Jubal finds himself entangled in the community and with deep, unfamiliar feelings for Lisa. But maybe a little detour is just what a warrior needs to find his true purpose…and true love.
