I believe in fairy tales — the kind where a knight in shining armor sweeps me off my feet. Coming from a broken home, fairy tales housed the hope I clung to. Never in my life did I imagine two knights coming into my life— two knights that wore very different armor.
A rockstar versus a lawyer.
Fast and furious versus deliberate and calculated.
Intense and passionate versus strong and devoted.
Chaos versus stability.
I fell in love with one in the craziness of a concert.
I fell in love with the other in the silence of his compassion.
And now I am Torn Between Two.
Honestly, I don't care for the 'knight in shining armor' thing so that put a damper on it for me that Sam was wanting that and I was really hoping that that was not going to be the theme of the book. After more details about Sam came to the surface, I sympathized for her that she needed to step into the parental mode for her own mother. However, on the same token, how I was brought up was once your parents reach a certain age and the roles need to be reversed, you take care of your parents - without the resentment. So, even though I was empathetic, I didn't pity her; I felt she was doing her job and duty as her daughter. Although I understand that this situation is a bit different. the story as as whole...with the grooves of the story and the character development...man was I entranced into this book! And even though I knew the love triangle would happen...it is a bite-your-nails-sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat kind of read. This author, Mia Kayla, is such a talented and creative writer who knows how to take the reader on a journey! Mia is now an author I will keep my eyes and ears out for!
