The Kennedy Stern sale/Liberty in North Korea fundraiser!!

Confronted with questions of underage abortion, plagued by a stalker and paralyzing PTSD flashbacks, and eventually caught in the center of a police brutality scandal, Kennedy discovers that her first year at Harvard University involves a lot more than passing a few lab classes and fulfilling her premed requirements.

With her parents serving North Korean refugees overseas, Kennedy befriends a loving and highly opinionated pastor, his hospitable and encouraging wife, an eccentric but respectful roommate whose worldview is drastically different from Kennedy's, and a foreign lab partner who's harboring a grave secret he'd do just about anything to keep from being exposed.

The Kennedy Stern Christian suspense series tackles controversial issues facing the church today and brings them to light in a way that encourages questions and fosters discussions without ever turning preachy or heavy-handed.

In addition to lowering her book bundle price down to 99-cents (from a regular $9.99), Alana’s using the sale to raise funds for Liberty in North Korea, an organization that runs an underground railroad for North Korean refugees. A portion of all book sales from the bundle will be donated to LiNK. Alana’s goal is to sell 10,000 copies of this ebook, which would lead to $3,000 for LiNK (the amount it costs to rescue one refugee on their underground railroad).
How can you help a North Korean refugee find freedom and safety?

In addition to raising money for LiNK, you’ll receive 3 full-length novels from the author who’s won awards from Women of Faith, The Book Club Network, Readers’ Favorite, and many others. Remember, the sale and fundraiser both end Sunday at midnight, so grab the 3-in-1 bundle now!

On sale until midnight July 30, 99 cents for the first 3 Kennedy novels

Link to the bundle: www.alanaterry.com/99 (this is probably the best link to send people to since this is how I will track web traffic for the $25 gift card, but if you prefer using your own links, etc., that’s fine too)

Books included:
Unplanned (A mysterious phone call will change Kennedy’s life forever …)

When Kennedy Stern’s childhood pastor asks her to volunteer at his new pregnancy center, she carves time out of her rigorous college schedule to promote the cause of the unborn.
After receiving a disturbing call from someone far too young to carry a child, Kennedy can no longer blindly hide behind the pro-life platitudes she grew up believing. She resolves to locate the unknown girl but winds up entrenched in a mystery that grows more convoluted as it unfolds.
Soon, Kennedy finds herself a pawn in a deadly game of intrigue, at the mercy of those who consider a few innocent lives a small ransom to pay in exchange for personal and political victory.

Paralyzed (It’s hard to heal from the past when the past wants you dead …)

Kennedy Stern has returned to campus after surviving an abduction, but old scars cut deep. Vivid flashbacks and terrifying dreams paralyze her, threatening to ruin her academic career and any chance she has for peace or happiness. This mental anguish, however, constitutes only a small fraction of her post-traumatic nightmare.
A partner in Kennedy’s kidnapping remains at large and will not stop until he has silenced her witness permanently. His violent resolve risks not only her life, but the safety of anyone who tries to help.
Kennedy must engage in a deadly battle of the mind as she struggles to stay alive. While fighting on two fronts — one psychological and one physical — the question isn’t whether she’ll come out of the war stronger in the end.
The question is whether she’ll come out of it at all.

Policed (A rogue police officer can ruin a lot more than a perfect evening out.)

Kennedy Stern and her best friend Reuben drag themselves away from their grueling studies to enjoy a night off campus, but getting pulled over by a belligerent cop isn’t in either of their plans.
When the police altercation turns violent, the media notes Reuben’s dark skin and labels this instance of police brutality a hate crime. Those Kennedy trusts the most warn her not to get involved, but she owes it to Reuben to pursue justice regardless of the personal cost.
Nothing remains a secret when a frenzied media and an embarrassed police department delve into Kennedy’s and Reuben’s backgrounds. Some truths, unfortunately, grow increasingly more painful the closer they get to the surface.

REVIEW:

This was such a sweet and enduring story about two sisters. The setting is in Amish Country. Opening the pages of this book you are plunged into the story between these two sisters and their relationship and their struggles. When they go back to visit their mother's sister, the sisters find out family secrets they weren't expecting which only brings their relationship closer and deeper. I loved how the author used real life situations even in the Amish setting (because most of us aren't accustomed to the Amish setting) and yet still made it a relatable situation for readers. I am very much looking forward to the next books in this series.

GUEST POST:

What inspired you to write this book?
I wouldn’t necessarily use the word inspired. But “Of Beasts and Bonds” is the second book in my Death and Destiny paranormal romance trilogy, so there was no question I would continue with the series when I finished “Of Fear and Faith.” In fact, the reason I have a trilogy is because I wrote one hellishly long story a few years back, just for fun. When I thought about turning the work into a bona fide novel, I knew it was far too long for a single work. I’m not J.K. Rowling and this isn’t the Harry Potter series. Most people don’t want to read a 600+ page book by an author, least of all an unknown author. So I divided my very rough draft into three manageable parts. For the most part, I stayed true to my draft for “Of Fear and Faith.” For “Of Beasts and Bonds,” I kept most of the ideas but essentially started from scratch, adding, for example, more supporting characters and some kickass scenes of magic. As I mentioned earlier, I’m going to have a new series, which will be a sequel to Death and Destiny. The new series will focus on many of the supporting characters from the trilogy. When readers read “Of Beasts and Bonds” they’ll get a few hints at possible future romantic pairings.

What can we expect from you in the future?
I’m currently working on Of Deception and Divinity. It’s the third and final book in my Death and Destiny paranormal romance trilogy. The book will be released on October 12th of this year. I haven’t yet revealed the cover. That will happen next month. But I can share the blurb with your readers.
The arrival of a new enemy.  The start of a greater battle.  A destiny to be defended.
A mighty war, waged every 500 years, has returned to the realm of mortals.  And with it, the Day of Serpents arrives to wreak havoc upon the world.
Assefa and Sanura struggle to complete their mate bond, as they also continue their fight in this preternatural war of fire versus water. Unseen enemies, surprise magic attacks, and betrayal lurk at every turn for the couple, and revelations about their powers and past come to light.
As Assefa and Sanura fight to seal their bond and love, destiny and divinity may have already sealed their fate.
I’m also participating in a paranormal romance boxset with over a dozen other authors. It’s a sky and sea theme, and I’m writing a novella about dragon shifters. Tentatively, the novella is entitled “Corporate Dragons.”
